This is a hand me down story. I couldn’t remember who told it to me originally, so I had to track down the source. I got to ask a bunch of my friends and get the same response each time: “Wait. Through a manatee?” “Yes, through a manatee,” she said when I finally figured out where the story came from. So, the story, a bunch of friends were swimming in an inlet and saw a manatee. One thought it would be funny* to jump on the manatee’s back. Well, what he failed to notice is that the manatee had died some time ago and when he jumped on the manatee, he went through the manatee.
